Photo scan workflow

Good lighting and a straight-on shot improve matches.

The scan tool sends your image to a recognition partner, then matches candidates against our database. Results are probabilistic—always confirm set and collector number.

Step by step

  1. Open Scan from the main navigation.

  2. Allow camera access or upload a clear photo of the card front.

  3. Optionally narrow the game hint if the UI offers it.

  4. Review ranked matches; open the best candidate’s database page.

Key points

  • FREE includes a monthly cap on photo scans; PRO includes unlimited scans (see Pricing for the current FREE limit).
  • Avoid glare, sleeves with rainbow foil, or extreme angles.

Text search from Scan

When you already know part of the name or number.

Step by step

  1. Switch to the text mode if available.

  2. Type distinctive tokens: card name, set name, or number.

  3. Filter down by game to disambiguate reprints.

After you land on the right card

Bridge into portfolio or seller workflows.

Step by step

  1. From the card page, add to portfolio, or start inventory actions if you sell.

  2. If the match was wrong, go back and pick another candidate or refine your photo.
